Lake Tahoe is a beautiful place and one of the deepest blue lakes in North America. One of the best places to capture sunrise is Emerald Bay State Park in Lake Tahoe.

For camera equipment I used the following

Camera: Nikon D7200
Lenses: Nikkor 12–24 mm & 105mm, Rokinon 24mm f/1.4
Filters: Neutral Density
Tripod & cable release

For those seeking a photo shoot here, some do’s and don’ts

Do’s

  • Check for sunrise / sunset times and make sure you get at the photo shoot location atleast a half hour prior

Don’t

  • Drive fast at dawn, saw many deer on the side of the road

Eagle Falls

This is the most visited waterfall in Lake Tahoe and is easily accessible from the parking lot. The waterfall was roaring

Emerald Bay with Fannette Island in the background — Sunrise

This is a beautiful sight at the sunrise magic hour due to the deep blue lake with Fannette island juxtaposed and the early morning reflections. The morning light also lit up the lodge pines in the Sierra mountains
